Credentials and Registrations

Tri-State Laser Cleaning LLC maintains business credentials and registrations that may be relevant to contractor onboarding, lead-safe renovation work, insurance review, and public procurement. Verification details or copies can be provided when applicable to the proposed scope.

  • EPA Lead-Safe Certified Firm: applies to RRP-covered renovation work in applicable pre-1978 housing and child-occupied facilities. Firm certification is not a universal approval of laser cleaning and does not replace OSHA, state, local, owner, or project-specific requirements.
  • Laser safety training: Laser Safety Officer training documentation is available for review. Work-zone planning is informed by ANSI Z136.1 principles and the equipment, wavelength, configuration, site, and task. ANSI publishes a consensus standard; it does not certify or endorse Tri-State Laser Cleaning.
  • SAM.gov registration: UEI and CAGE identifiers are available for procurement verification. Registration does not imply a federal contract award, agency relationship, approval, or endorsement.
  • Insurance documentation: certificates of insurance can be supplied for contractor or facility review. Coverage remains subject to the applicable policy terms, limits, exclusions, and project requirements.

Documentation Available for Project Review

The documentation package should be defined in the proposal because requirements differ by facility and scope. Depending on the project, available or prepared materials may include:

  • EPA firm-certification verification and relevant training records
  • Certificate of insurance and contractor-onboarding information
  • Equipment identification, wavelength information, operating configuration, and safety-control summary
  • Site-specific method statement, work-zone plan, hazard review or job-hazard analysis
  • PPE, ventilation, fume-extraction, fire-prevention, access-control, and emergency-coordination notes
  • Test-area results, agreed acceptance criteria, and before-and-after photographs
  • Field notes, completion records, or other closeout documents when included in the scope

The owner or controlling contractor should disclose known coating composition, prior testing, safety data, hazardous-material surveys, occupancy restrictions, facility rules, and required inspection standards. Surface appearance alone is not a reliable material identification method.

Method and Compliance Limitations

  • Results are material-specific. Removal rate, finish, heat response, staining, shadowing, and substrate interaction depend on the coating or contaminant, substrate, thickness, color, condition, access, and laser parameters. A representative test area may be necessary.
  • Cleaning does not repair damage. Laser cleaning can expose existing corrosion pits, cracking, section loss, failed coatings, or substrate defects; it does not restore lost material or structural capacity.
  • A required profile controls method selection. If a coating specification requires a particular anchor profile or abrasive-blast standard, laser cleaning alone may not produce that specified profile.
  • Access and scale matter. Line-of-sight access, geometry, lifts, traffic control, occupied spaces, production schedules, and very large open areas can affect feasibility and total cost. Another method may be more suitable after review.
  • Laser and plume hazards remain. The absence of added abrasive media does not eliminate beam, reflected-beam, fire, electrical, airborne-contaminant, or respiratory hazards. Controls must be based on the actual task and material.
  • Waste obligations depend on what is removed. Laser cleaning does not add blast media, rinse water, or chemical stripper. Captured particulate, spent filters, existing debris, or removed hazardous coatings may still require characterization and handling under the owner’s, generator’s, facility’s, and jurisdiction’s requirements.
  • EPA RRP has a defined scope. Lead-Safe Firm status applies to covered renovation work; other lead-related construction, occupational-exposure, disposal, state, and local requirements may apply separately.
